Pitch Limitations & Flashings:
25° - 75° for profiled tiles, plain tiles and thick slates. 15° - 75° for thin slates. Between 15° - 25° a continuous 10mm wide compressed bituminous foam strip (eg Compriband) should be introduced at the top and sides of the unit to form a waterproof seal between the flashing and the underside of the slates.

Material & Colour:
UNV coded units have a polyurethane (CFC free) upstand and flashing skirt with an integral lead base flashing. L coded units have a polyurethane (CFC free) upstand with an integral aluminium perimeter flashing. Glazing casements on single glazed units are GRP and on double glazed units are GR Polycarbonate.

Glazing:
Purilan single glazed skylights - 3mm float glass.
Purilan double glazed skylights - 3mm float: 8mm airgap: 3mm float glass.
External locking skylights - 3mm polycarbonate sheet.
These skylights have a dry glazing system of snap-on aluminium beads which makes reglazing, if necessary, a simple task.
Double glazed units carry the suffix ISO after the code number. ie UNV31 ISO.

Ventilation / Access:
Purilan skylights are supplied with a single casement stay which holds the casement in one of three positions - closed, narrow opening (night vent) and fully open (220mm). If wider opening than 220mm is required for other than ventilation purposes, the casement stay may be released from the frame by operating the patented casement stay fastener. Units coded UNV32E and L32E provide access from outside to inside are supplied with a single barrel external lock and two keys and with an internal grip handle only.
